Destin with Kids????

Going with a 4 and 1 year old, one week in May. Need recommendations for a condo, beach-front, maybe with a kids program. Have heard good things about Pelican Beach Resort and Sandestin Beach Resorts. Others??

Pat, I don't have children but I stayed at the Sandestin Hilton in December for a conference. Destin has beautiful beaches. However, some of the rooms at the Sandestin Hilton are showing alot of wear and tear, since my first visit in 1987. The rooms are large, with two dbl or a king, and a set of bunk beds. Food in the hotel restaurant was over-priced. As far as condos, Abbott Realty handles alot of
rentals. I cannot vouch for the company, I've just seen their name a lot, as I live only 40 miles away, in Panama City.

Jetty East is a great condo right on the beach. Has 1,2,3 BR. Only drawback is no wading pool for the small one. But we've been there w/ kids similar in age to your and it worked out great.

Be careful, some places in Destin don't have the most direct beach access. Some of the beach areas to the east such as Okaloosa Island, Navarre and Pensacola Beach offer much more for the money.

Destin is great with kids. We stay at the Pelican Beach at least 1 time per year. It is very nice. You can probably handle a 1 bedroom as each has 2 full baths and bunkbeds in the hallway. I always use Abbott. They have a website where you can view all of the condos, floor plans and rates. The beachs are awesome. E-mail me if you have any questions.
