They all bought the scarves on Canal Street. How depressing.

I bought my Burberry in Harrods in London, and wear it in NYC. Does that mean only the Canal ST scarves are out of season? Because they are wearing them all over London and NYC!

A burberry scarf is a scarf made of burberry plaid. Burberry is a brand and the signature plaid is tan with red and black plaid.

Does anyone know where all these people selling on Canal Street get their merchandise? I sort of picture one huge warehouse with knockoffs, and people getting their stock there. Plus, it's not just Canal Street, it's all over Manhattan that you see these knockoffs. My daughter and I have both bought some of these items, but actually, it's just stealing from the original designer. One other thought...are they really knockoffs or are they over runs of the real thing? Does anyone have the inside scoop on these operations?

Here is an article from the Nov 29 New York Times

Nine people have been arrested on charges of dealing in counterfeit designer clothes, handbags and sunglasses after an 18-month investigation in which detectives set up a warehouse in downtown Brooklyn, officials said yesterday. Detectives at the warehouse bought fake Rolexes and Tiffany jewelry, counterfeit Coach and Louis Vuitton handbags, Kangol hats and Police and Fire Department baseball caps from dealers who bought cheap goods from foreign countries. Those goods were embroidered with designer labels in New York City factories, the police said. Cameras caught the transactions on tape, and deliveries were tracked to the illegal distributors. The suspects were charged with trademark counterfeiting. Lydia Polgreen
