Denver-Which One?

Which hotel would you recommend for a romantic weekend for 2 in Denver? Hotel Teatro, Hotel Monaco, Brown Palace Hotel, or Westin Tabor Place? Would prefer a more modern updated room with nice bathroom. We would like to be close to downtown area and attractions, but will have a car... Thanks!

I'd say Brown Palace. Monaco was nice, but more "funky" than romantic IMO. Also, the room I had at the Monaco was VERY small.

nothing beats the Brown Palace. if they have a room available, and you can afford it, stay there. one of the nicest things they do is high tea, which i recommend. hey, if it was good enough for the beatles when they stayed in denver, ...

The Oxford HOtel with a drink in their Cruise Room. It's where my Denver kids give themselves an intown vacation.

the cruise room is romantic if you're 22.

I haven't stayed at three of the places you mentioned, but I did recently stay at Hotel Teatro and can highly recommend it. The room was ultra modern and the bathroom was amazing. If a nice bathroom is high on your priority list, then Hotel Teatro is the place for you.

All of the places you mentioned are conveniently located--can't go wrong there. The Hotel Teatro is adjacent to the Performing Arts Complex--nice if you're seeing a play or other event. I agree about the Monaco--it's a fun place but the bathrooms are very small. The Westin has big rooms and is right on the 16th Street Mall, which is handy. I love the Brown Palace--that's my pick. Atmosphere galore. Inquire about room size when you make reservations, though--it's an old hotel with many different size rooms. That's great in that it's not a cookie-cutter hotel but make sure you know what you're getting. You will LOVE the Brown Palace.

Oh, and I'm a geezerette of 41 and I like the Cruise Room

I've stayed at the Westin, Teatro, and Oxford...and as far as romance goes I say Oxford. Westin is also nice, and for the price, MUCH better than Teatro, especially location-wise (if you're planning on walking to various locations, except theater, of course, in which case you'd love Teatro's location).

Well, flopmeister, if you have to be cruisin' for somethin maybe. We like it and we are considerably out of that age group. Our kids like it and they are too. We just like the martinis.

Thanks ALL for your replies. Has anyone ever stayed in the EMBASSY SUITES in Downtown Denver? I have enough Hilton Honors points for free nights. Wondering if it's centrally located and as nice as the WESTIN?
THANKS!

GaiLK, we stayed there last summer. Nice suite with a huge bedroom and bathroom. It was convenient to walk to the pedestrian mall and to LoDo. I would recommend it.

Gretchen, to each her own. I don't care if you're 41 or 21, the Cruise room is about as romantic as road kill.
