Denver 1st Time

Hi going to Denver for a fundraiser first weekend in Nov. This is my first time ever visiting. Will be there Friday night for a night out on the town, what do you suggest in terms of restaurant/drinks/dancing.
Thanks

There are about 75 restaurants in the downtown area -- what is your preference? AND IF we are in the World Series it could be a little tight !!!

Luckily the World Series is only scheduled to go until Thurs. Nov 1, with the last two games in the American League city, so it's very, very unlikely they'd be playing in LoDo on Nov. 3-4! You know how the ski areas love it when it snows during nationally-televised Broncos games... can you imagine if it snows for a Rockies World Series game!

Restaurants in Denver - so many good ones! Steakhouses (Denver Chop House, Capitol Grille, Sullivan's, Elway's), Italian (Panzano, Pagliacci's, Barolo Grill), seafood (Oceanaire, Jax, McCormicks), Mexican (Las Margaritas, Las Delicias, Tamayo) Fusion cuisine, pizza, chains, mom & pops - you name em! If you do have a preference in cuisine or area of town, post it and you'll get great suggestions. Also take a look at our local "free" paper, Westword (www.westword.com) and click on Restaurants for a great, up-to-date guide.

I had not paid any attention to the potential schedule but a local TV sports guy was lamenting about playing baseball in Denver in November --- and the potential risk. What happened to the "Boys of Summer?"

What are your preferences for restaurant/drinks/dancing? Will you be staying downtown? In LoDo, Larimer, and other downtown spots, there are lots of choices for what you mention, just depends on your taste and budget. There's also Cherry Creek. . . Let us know what you're looking for.

For country dancing, you could check out the Grizzly Rose (I25 & 58th St). Although the place looks a little rough from the outside, the regulars are pretty friendly.

For Ballroom, there is a place called Ward Carter, but I have been told that it is mostly a social club for old ladies trying to meet old men (and vice versa).

You can check the Rocky Mountain Swing Dance Club website event calendar if you like West Coast Swing, Salsa, etc.

Hope this helps.
