Denali Car Rental OK?

We booked a compact car from Denali Car Rental as it had the best prices. Trouble is it is not at the airport nor downtown. We can take a cab to get the car. We are staying at the Hawthorn Suites. Any good or bad experiences with this agencey. How did you get your car?

If the car is closer to Hawthorne Suites, they have a free shuttle and may run you over there to get car. You could call and ask at desk. We found them very helpful.

I just called them and they only give you 150 miles per day, not unlimited. That is too risky I think.

With only 150 miles/day, I would definately factor out HOW many you plan to use and figure the TOTAL costs involved. Some independents also have very limited hours. Look also at Alamo, they frequently have week specials that are good in Alaska.

We've booked a car for Sept through Alamo and got an excellent deal. They also provide additional discounts and benefits (e.g. free additional driver) if you have a wholesale club membership.
You may want to check them out.

We just returned and had a good trip with our little car from the Denali Car Rental. It was very inexpensive and took us all the places we wanted to go. I would recommend them. Neither Hawthorn Suites (first 2 days) nor the Inlet Suites (last 2 days) would take us by shuttle to get or return the car. But, the 20 minutes walk along the little park was so pleasent it didn't matter.

From what they posted on rates, I have seen Alamo with special at $149/week and convenient at the airport. With taxes around $225

I just checked Denali Car Rental's rates, and was given a quote of $85 a day. That is about $200 more than the reservation I currently have with Dollar including all of the taxes and fees, even with DNC's offer of a free day.
