Delta: Is it worth complaining?
Recently, I was in Boston and was spoken to in a rude manner by a Delta employee. Has anyone had this happen to them and then complained to Delta? If so, what was the outcome? I am debating if I should bother to complain. Thanks.

Had this occurred at a very nice luxury hotel or luxury retailer, you'd likely get some sort of satisfaction with a formal complaint.
These days, most airlines are a lot like city bus services. I'd expect to get zero interest from Delta management. Besides, it's your word against theirs. There's no way to prove you were treated rudely.
If the airlines compensated customers every time an employee was somewhat rude I think they'd all be out of business by now.

I've done the opposite. Once I returned from Europe on a charter flight and fell ill on the flight. Due to airplane and airline problems I had to book a one-way trip home from JFK upon arrival. I went to the airline desk I had originally been planning to fly, but they wouldn't be able to get me out that night. The great agent checked availability on other airlines, then walked me to the proper desk (I probably looked like I was going to keel over onto my bags). The other airline agent got me ticketed, told me where to run and grab a skycap to get my bag on the domestic flight, etc. and I made it home to my own bed very early the next morning.
I had taken down the helpful agents' names and wrote a letter to the supervisor at JFK, giving names, dates, what happened and what it meant to me. I later heard that one airline posted the letter and the agent was given some employee of the month thing.
Maybe works in reverse too? If you have the name, date, time, specifics and how it affects your patronage and impression of the company, then try to influence that person's record with their supervisor. The letter might make it into their file for personnel actions.

Hmmmm. I just answered your post about an employee at another airline being rude to you. Perhaps there is a reason that both airlines treated you rudely?
What did you say or do that caused this employee to be rude? Or do you really think he or she is rude to everyone??

Hi, SWIlliams, I fly often Delta.
Two years ago I had a terrible car accident in Italy and had to fly back home with my full leg and right fore arm in a brace.
We had business tickets. The flight from Rome to Atlanta was marvelous, the stewards male and female were caring, efficient and professional. But during the Delta Atlanta to Miami flight which happened to be first class, I was treated rudely , the stewards man and a couple of women were the opposite from the other team.
I wrote to Delta both thanking the crew in the first flight and complaining about the other team. They sent me a nice letter. .If you ask me I was glad I wrote to them for whatever it is worth.

I just pulled up all of SWillams threads. There are actually 2 complaints today initiated by SWillams about BMI, approximately 15 minutes apart.
Is there a problem in general with creating threads and posting to threads today?
SWillams has not participated a lot at Fodors, so maybe s/he is a novice traveller (in one thread s/he is completely clueless about Priceline and was truly off the radar about Bidding for Travel - s/he didn't read the FAQ clearly enough to understand it) and needs to become a bit more thick skinned.
Also, it would be appreciated if you would supply more details when you relate your concerns and queries so that we can provide you with better information and less vague opinions.

I agree with Kay2 and I have tried to compliment airline personnel when they have done nice things for us. We have had some wonderful results from this - several airline people at our local airport have called us and thanked us as the complaints come frequently (and sometimes without reason) and the compliments are few and far between. We have also heard other pasengers ask a flight attendant for their name so they can complain (after complaining about everything) and we take down their seat number and any other info we think of (description, etc) to rebut the complaint when it is not warranted. This has also been much appreciated. Yes, sometimes they can be rude, wrong, etc., but so can we.

LMAO.......I was spoken rudely to all over Boston (or so I thought!). Turns out I really don't understand everything they say. Their Boston twang and my Southern drawl are really opposites...But, I was so happy when I thought the bus driver was rude to me and told me not to get off the bus here!!! I was at the Marriott sure enough........but, was trying to get off at the wrong one!! Your know, we are all entitled to bad days and it just happens.
