December Weather-Phoenix/Sedona

I guess the title is self-explanatory !

We're going to Phoenix/Scottsdale and then Sedona during the last week in December through New Years. Just wondering what the temps will be for packing purposes.

Thanks for your input.

As a former resident of Phoenix, I know the temp will be in the 70s to 80s during the day, and in the 40s and 50s at night. Depending on where you live now, you'll find that chilly enough for a sweater during the day and a jacket at night, or you'll be running around in shorts and t-shirts the entire time.

Kelly has just about hit it on the head.....70s during the day and 40s at night...and, hopefully, no rain. We lived in a house with a fireplace and we never got to use the fireplace during the holidays...too warm...should be beautiful and ask your hotel staff where the beautiful Christmas decorations are...so many areas have gorgeous displays...

I used to live in Phoenix and I'm still surprised at the expectations most non-Arizonans have about the weather in PHX during winter. It's not as warm (feeling) as people seem to think.

Phoenix: Dec-Jan, Avg Max and Min Temps: 65 and 39

Sedona: Dec-Jan, Avg Max and Min Temps: 56 and 30

Balmy if you're coming in from Wisconsin, but the dry air makes it feel a little cooler if you're a local.

Oh, by the way, those are average daily temperatures, taken from the Chamber of Commerce resource site.

It can be nice and sunny in both places, but cooler in Sedona, of course. It usually is, but it can also be very rainy and cold. Take some clothing that would be appropriate on a rainy, 40 degree day and you should be ok
