Top of the Rock is open. The Staten Island ferry is running- but ona holiday schedule. And you can see all the store windows on Fifth AVenue, Rock Center, the tree, St Pat's etc.

However, most things are closed - so suggest you check with the web sites of each to see.

Most stores and museums will be closed. Empire St. bldg is open, Rockefeller center ice skating is open, many restaurants are open, some theaters do have performances, and of course all outdoor sites (CHristmas tree at Rock. Ctr, Central Park, 5th AV store windows, etc.) are always 'open'.

You can go to nycvisit.com and check out their calendar. Plug in the date and pick tours (or whatever) and see what's going on. There are 13 tours that come up for Xmas day.

Just noticed there's a tour of Rockefeller Center being given by the Municipal Arts society on the 25th.

Really, most museums closed in NYC on Christmas? I must say, that is not the case in Chicago, and our Jewish friends have always touted Christmas as a good, uncrowded day to visit museums! (though the year we joined them, at a popular exhibit at the Aquarium here, it was PACKED!)

Mea culpa, I should have checked first--apparently museums in Chicago ARE closed on Christmas.

Chinese restaurants and movie theatres are famously open, too!
