Death Valley, CA
We were going on a tour in January, the tour guide called, there is road closed till mid-March, he said, this is where people take the most photos: Artist's Drive. We decided to postpone our trip till the road reopens.
So just FYI if you are planning a trip.

Hi Dayenu. Artists Drive is just one teensy part of DV - it is not the most scenic/famous area.
This site describes several parts of the park.

I personally would not postpone a trip just because Artists Drive was closed.

Hmmm... I feel like a light went on... yes, it is possible that he is delaying for (an)other reason(s).
We don't drive, so can't plan our own trip, but my plan B was to take a similar tour out of Las Vegas - one day bus tour.
Off to planning, thank you, Tom and Janis!

The one time that I drove the one way Artist's Drive, near the north end there was a group of motorcyclists.
One of the motorcyclists had got into an open storm drain and he was injured with his motorcycle wheels up.
No one had cell service so I drove back to Furnace Creek to report the accident and get him help.
I hope with the road work they fix all of these hazards.
