We were also considering Mas. Does anyone have an opinion about that? What's the neighborhood like? Could we park once and walk around if we want to get a drink somewhere after dinner (with frigid Chicago weather)?

I'm don't know anything about Mas or De La Costa, not even what neighborhood they are in, but if you are going this Saturday night, the weather is certainly not going to be very frigid. Not like it was a couple of weeks ago.

And you would have better luck if you gave the addresses or neighborhood locations. Try www.metromix.com to see if they are listed there.

I know Mas, it is 3 blocks from my house. It is a contemporary Latin style resturant with great food (I've eaten dinner there twice and had brunch there once). There are plenty of places to walk and get a drink when you are done, simply part on Division and take your pick, if you want a recommendation let me know, the street has everything from Wine Bars to Dive Bars

JJ5 - De La Costa is a Nuevo Latino restaurant that opened in September near North Pier. It has mixed reviews on Metromix. Since it is pretty new, it sounds like they have some kinks to work out. Mas is another Nuevo Latino restaurant on Division in Wicker Park.
Vittrad - We are going to go to Mas and would love some recommendations. Something nice..a wine bar sounds good. Thanks.
