DC questions again - what to do with my 6 yr-old?

We never go to or send people to the Wash. Monument -we do the Post Office bell tower in the Pavilion (sp?). Bells are fun, view is better (taller than Ken. Ctr), and there are some shoppes and foodly places on the bottom 2 floors.
