I think that it is difficult to find parking in the Dupont Circle area in the evenings. I don’t know about during the day. There might be restrictions for residents during the day also. When I come out of work on Fridays there are cars everywhere. I work right in Dupont Circle and my friend came here one weekend and we couldn't find any parking on the street. We drove around for a while.
I called Colonial Parking and they said they charge $17 for overnight parking at their 1333 New Hampshire Avenue location. That is right below the Circle.

vjpblovesitaly, thanks for making that call! Well $17 is better than 30+, so it's great to have some idea of an option if I can't do street parking. I see they have couple of other locations nearby, so I printed out a map.

My fave parking garage in the city is the garage at UDC - and it's conveniently situated right next to Van Ness metro (red line, a few short stops from Dupont). Unlimited in/out access and $8/day. Don't know what they charge to leave a car overnight.
