Everyone mark your calendars - Let's plan for Saturday, October 3 for a lunchtime GTG. Any suggestions for a place would be appreciated. Sure wish there was an edit feature so I could add it to the title. Wonder if the monitors/editors would do that.

I have volunteered to do name tags.

Great, thanks for the update. I bet the editors would edit the title if you asked them, probably by flagging your thread.

Regarding a place, I know one challenge we had last time was getting a separate room for a group especially since in the planning stages we weren't sure how many were coming.

TDudette, thanks for name tags!

Pls let me know if you prefer a place near a metro or if you will be driving. That will help with picking a venue. Also if you are bringing anyone with you. Thanks!

I do plan to be there...look forward to seeing youall. StCirq is active on the French Fodors Fora... no surprise. Maybe she'll be coming back to WDC for a visit in October ? We can ask.

Thank you, Yestravel, for organizing this.

Too soon to travel after Richard's bionic knee job, sadly.

I plan to be there....depending on location and time, I may take the train but I probably will drive.

I will not be bringing anyone.

girlonthego is interested as well...you may want to update with the date in the Lounge.

Thanks Yes for getting this started. If we can't find a nice alternative, we could have the gtg the same place we went last time. We'll dust the baseboards again.

I don't know if I can come, and probably won't for a while, but you might look at options for private areas at either Petits Plats or Cafe Paradiso, both in the Woodley Park area of DC and right at the Red Line metro stop there.

Thanks, yestravel, for your efforts on our behalf -- you are awesome!!!

Thanks, kja -- those are good ideas, easy access from the metro and the area is not completely impossible for parking. I will see what they offer for a group. Hope you can make it as I would love to meet you. Have read many of your TR's in prep for our trips.
Janet - Fodors moderators did edit the title of the post in the Lounge to indicate the date. I had already added the date info to the thread.

FYI for people thinking of the where possibilities I am estimating between 20-25. TDudette has kept an email list of people who have come to previous DC GTG's. Some of those people don't show on this thread.

Thanks, yestravel -- if I can think of other easy-access restaurants, I'll let you know. And I would love to meet you, too!

I'm in--my husband may or may not come, I am unsure because of his work schedule. I plan to take the metro in. The timing is perfect because I want to go to the Gustave Caillebotte exhibit at the National Gallery which runs through 10/4.
In case anyone's also interested in that:

Thanks for organizing, yestravel--and yes, we also did Chile. We'll obviously have a lot to talk about. (Have you visited Panama?--that's what's on tap for us this December).
