DC/Georgetown hotel $175 a night

Anyone know of a SAFE hotel in DC or Georgetown for about $175 a night?

Have you done any research since you posted asking about hotels last week? Recommended over and over are Dupont Circle, Downtown, and Penn Quarter which are in DC, and Crystal City or Rosslyn right over the river in VA. Georgetown is nice, but it does not have a Metrorail stop. You would have to walk, cab or take a Metrobus from Georgetown, which is slightly less convenient.

You don’t need to say SAFE as if anybody here would recommend something other than safe. Having said that, avoid the hotels along New York Ave in the NE section.

Georgetown is in DC; it's a neighborhood.
Try searching this board--there are several recent threads on budget-priced DC hotels. If this is for a spring break trip, get a move on, b/c most things are probably already booked, especially at the lower price ranges. Good luck!

I would try Priceline. Fewer people are traveling for pleasure as well as business which has dropped the price in most markets. Low demand equals low priceline wins. It is worth a try.

Also consider Hotwire. See www.betterbidding.com with tips on using Priceline or Hotwire.

We stayed at the Omni Shoreham last June with Hotwire for a ridiculously low rate and were just thrilled.
