Daytona Beach

Meeting family at Fantasy Island Resort II this Christmas vacation. Has anybody stayed there? Please give me a rating.
Also would appreciate any suggestions for golf, shopping or sightseeing with 4 young adults. What would we all enjoy in the area and at St. Augustine? We've all been to Disney World and do not plan to go this time. What rides at Universal Studios would you suggestions?
Thanks for your help.
Any suggestions for restaurants?

In December, the manatees are usually in Blue Springs State Park, which is in Orange City. You can also take a very nice 2 1/2 hour eco-tour of the St. John's Rivers from Hontoon Island Marina outside of DeLand. St. Augustine is great to see at night in December because they have a light festival. Eat some great fried shrimp at Barnacle Bills and definitely tour the Castille De San Marcos. Another quaint town worth a visit is Fernandina Beach, north of Jacksonville. It is a victorian era town and boasts a wonderfully preserved civil war Fort Clench state park. If you're a NASCAR fan, you can also visit the Daytona Speedway which has an amusement type attraction.

Hi-just got back from Universal and would suggest the following rides - back to the future is a must, so is twister. ET and Earthquake are next. King Kongfrontation is mediocre.

Ride the movies

Just browsing thru St. Augustine is a fun day....a lot of outdoor dining or places for just a cup of coffee....stop and people watch....Or walk the St. Augustine beach on the island...goes on for miles!

just got back from Daytona. someone gave me a bum steer to stand in line for Twister. Pretty lame attraction...as is King Kong. Did enjoy Back to the Future and the Terminator. both must do's.
now Back to the Frigid Midwest.
