Days Hotel-New York City

If you don't mind another question about hotels in New York City.....I have looked at
many responses and have not seen any about
Days Hotel at 48th & 8th.
Would appreciate any comments. We are looking for something clean, convenient and in an area where we can safely walk around.
Thank you.

Just saw it from outside last week when I was in NYC. It looks pretty good - very well located and certainly in a convenient and safe part of town. Actually I think we ate breakfast in a bagel place before going to a meeting at Ogilvy & Mather (ad agency).

Thanks for the information, it makes me feel better. We do have reservations there for July but they can be cancelled if necessary.
Thanks again.

Thank you for your comments about the area being safe....is there anyone that has stayed in this hotel that could comment on the rooms, service, cleanliness, parking etc.
Thanks

I have stayed at the hotel several times, last being about a year ago. It is a run of the mill hotel room wise. It is clean, safe (security all around) relatively inexpensive by NY standards, and in the Theatre district. Walking distance to all threatres, a block from the clean and safe Times Square area, a 15 min walk to 5th ave and Lincoln Center and convenient to subway and cabs. Nothing fancy but functional.

I stayed there also. It's a typical hotel room with two double beds. Very comfortable. It was four women travelers doing some Christmas shopping. We never felt unsafe.

Thank you for your responses. It sounds like it will be perfect, as we are not expecting (and cannot afford) anything upscale but this should be just fine.
