David Blaine drowned in New York!
"Drowned Alive" is the name of his new stunt in New York...
This guy is just too crrrraaaaazy for words.
I guess he'll stop his antics when something serious does happen to him, huh?
Anyway...saw this this morning on CNN. For all you NY Tourists...yet ANOTHER attraction to add to your already crammed full "must see" list!

A local Chicago DJ has done hours of talking about this featured event. He thinks the guy is using the liquid gel-like flurocarbon type substance that carries crossable oxygen in liquid form. Scientists have kept mice etc. alive in it for days, but they die afterwards from the residue not fully expelling itself from the lungs on return to regular air/atmosphere.
It's lead to much talk about illusional stunts all around. I too, think they are rather a bore. But some people really enjoy the most improbable illusion acts. They are acts, tricks. So is this one.
It's rather a one line joke extended to 7 days. And he was on Regis and it was a good excuse for Kelly to get on a wet suit and go into the "bubble". The sides are not clear, sort of bluish and cloudy- so it's not science, just a trick. You can't see into the middle clearly at all.

Faina, Yes it is. I work across the street from Lincoln Center, so I've been visiting every day, it's pretty bizarre, and boring. He just swims around in a bubble. I think the bubble is tinted blue for sun protection. If I didn't work across the street, I wouldn't bother going out of my way. It's my MO anyway, grab a cup of coffee and sit by the reflecting pool!

I think the real entertainment here would be to see if one of the double decker Grayline Tour buses can run over the bubble!
Can they roll the bubble out into Columbus Circle?
For added excitement, let's give the tourists riding on top dart guns!
WooHoo!
