BRAVO again Jan! Your response was actually very diplomatic, indeed--not nasty or abusive in any way, shape or form!!

From a Westport Born-and-Bread
To: Anyone wondering about CT
I grew up in Westport, CT in the 60
s -70's, and it was a great place to grow up at the time. Things changed greatly in the 80's in Westport - it was no longer artists and long-time families, it was corporate relocations and NYC re-locotees.
My husband and I tried to stay in Westport (had to rent - way too high), but it just didn't work. I was the ONLY mom that picked her son up at school - surrounded by NANNIES! Ahhh! We moved to Redding CT immediately - bought a piece of S*** house 5 years ago, and I still have a paint brush in my hand.

Doesn't matter where you start as long as you have the vision - where you want to be in the long run. Buy a beautiful piece of property - you can change the house, but you can't change the feeling that you get when you walk around it .
Connecticut is a very special place, and this is why many people spend so much money to live here. But, if you are thinking of moving here, please take the time to research the towns and counties. We may be a small state, but we are quite diverse. Make sure you know where you're going

Hello all. I love Ridgefield CT, but it is very expensive. Does anyone know of a town that is similiar to Ridgefield in the sense, of people, quaintness, village feel, etc...but it is less expensive. Distance is not an issue. I work from home and can live anywhere. Stuff that is important:

1. Schools that are excellent
2. A town like Ridgefield
3. A home with an acre+ and lots of trees.

Any suggestions??? Jon
