Dallas lodging
We plan to be in Dallas next October for a few days. We will visit the Sixth Floor Museum and Bishops Arts District. Is it best to stay downtown then. I was looking at the Hotel Indigo and am wondering about the location. Also, any other hotel recommendations are appreciated. One day we will drive to Fort Worth. Thanks

The Indigo is in a nice location, easy from the freeway and with parking across the street. The block is not super-busy which makes it easy for Uber pickups etc. A few restaurants around the block and several more in the Deep Ellum neighborhood which is about 10 mins walk. Sixth Floor Museum is about 15 mins walk.
It's a historic building / rehab so the rooms are on the smaller side. And the doors slam, walls are kinda thin & you might get a creaky floor above you. On weekends it seems to be a popular hotel for school sports groups etc so you might want to see what's in town that weekend. Very close to bus stop and train station. Interesting building so if you don't stay there you might visit the lounge just to check out the old bones, nicely renovated.
The Adolphus is another beautiful Dallas hotel to visit for coffee or drinks, just to look around at the grandeur.
