Dallas area hotel w/soft beds
I need information on Dallas area hotels that have soft beds. I am looking for replies from someone with actual experience of these beds. I already know about the Westin heavenly beds, but our "Heavenly bed" at Stonebriar (?) was hard as a rock. I remembered a posting earlier about a chain upgrading beds, but I can't find it and can't remember which one. I am looking for midrange prices if possible as we wont be in the room much, but would like to be able to sleep at nite! Thanks!!

TTT so I can sleep at nite......
I promise I am not a pervert, and this post is not a joke. I sleep on a Kingsdown mattress at home, if you have one you know what I mean when I say that I can not sleep on hotel beds!! Please help me soon as I will be in Dallas this weekend!

I'm always amazed at people who complain that hotel beds are too hard. To me - they're always way too soft - really soggy. (I'm not talking about an old, very used bed - but even the beds in really expensive hotels are always way too soft - like sleeping on some giant pillow - instead of a good firm surface with a little support.)

I only mentioned that i am not a pervert because I have asked this question before and people commented that I must be a "pervert" or "troll". I have to admit the board is much more friendly these days...
As for sleeping pills, if you know any good doctors I would love to hve Ambien, but I have no such luck with my MD.
I have back issues and most of the rock hard beds in hotel kill me!! I wake up in the morning and cant even move. My dh also hates the hard beds. I'm just hoping to find one. I have thought about going to the local furniture store that carries Kingsdown mattresses and hiding out until they have closed....

TxTravelPro, sorry I forgot to post the location. We have a convention downtown Dallas, and are going over towards Irving to eat at Cool River. I have read your suggestions about the Homewood at 190 and Jupiter and I am considering it unless I can find something closer in.

Ski4me: I have no knowledge of "heavenly beds" but I do have a Tempur-pedic bed and know what it is like to leave home and have that concern about whether the hotel bed will be too firm or too soft.
This is my suggestion, although perhaps not a very practical one, bring along one of those viscoelastic bed toppers (my kids use them on their dorm beds) and you will have something to 'sink' into. You can pick it up at any linen chain and they are fairly inexpensive (so even if you wanted to leave it behind it wouldn't break the bank).
As an aside, the best hotel bed I ever slept in was at the Ritz Carlton, San Francisco - It was the down feather bed that made it so comfortable, not necessarily the mattress.

Thanks for the tip on the Homewood Suites. I tried them out and loved the hotel and the bed. It was great, just as you said. I was able to sleep till 11am!! I know you said this Homewood is upgraded and I have no experience with them otherwise, but are other Homewood Suite as nice, not necessarily as modern, but nicely decorated and set up similarly? Thanks so much for your help!
