I am also interested in visitng Nihau. I have made previous inquiries and you can find the responses if you do a search for "Nihau" on this site.
My understanding is that most or all of Nihau is privately owned so travel to most places on the island is restricted.

We saw these trips offerred while we were on Kauai but I believe you may be able to cruise around the island to see the coastline but you will not be able to disembark because access to this island is restricted to native Hawaiians.
The Na Pali coast of Kauai is so beautiful and inaccessible, except by boat or on foot that a cruise along its coast is really a worthwhile trip.
I'd be interested to hear from others who have taken this trip. I wonder if the term "forbidden island" increases our interest in going there or if it really is worth a trip.
The captain of our catamaran cruise did mention that it can be a rough trip.
