Creperies in California

Any recommendations for excellent crepes - anywhere in California? Thanks.

Savor: In San Francisco on 24th Street (Noe Valley). Yummy crepes and really good salads also!

Ticouz, in the Mission District of San Francisco. Informal local eatery with delicious crepes.

Good question. Haven't been able to find a decent one in L.A. for years, except at my house, of course! There was one on the Sunset Strip a few years ago that was pretty good, but they couldn't get an alcohol license, so it went by the wayside pretty fast.

In San Francisco:
On O'Farrell just to the east of Macy's, there is a little lunch place specializing in crepes, along with the soups and salads, etc. I always have a buckwheat galette with caramel sauce. The nice North African lady who is the maitresse always greets me with the cheeriest "bonjour".

The place in Farmer's Market in L.A. is fun, lots of hustle and bustle, french presses of coffee, and good crepes stuffed with ingredients. It's one of the food stands, not a restaurant.

We also go to The Crepe Place in Santa Cruz on Soquel near Seabright. It's a funky restaurant, dark inside with lots of stuff on the walls, good chick bartenders, and a really pretty patio out back with lots of greenery. I've only ever had the breakfast crepes, but they had tons of fresh fruit (and topped with ice cream!). They also have egg dishes, and then for lunch/dinner it's strictly crepes. It's a cool place, we just go to the bar sometimes for the occasionally off-kilter ambience.

love
