Countdown to Maui

Ten days until we head for Maui for seven days. Flying out on October 4th. Just a quick trip to recover from all of the work of fiscal year closeout. Got a great deal on a rental condo in Honokowai. This will be our third visit to Maui, so we are mostly catching up on activities that we missed in the past. We have tickets already for the Old Lahaina Luau, the Ulalena Dance Show, and Warren and Annabelle's Magic Show. Not too much planned so far for daytime activities -- day trips to the Tedeschi Winery and Makawao; probably a day or two roaming around Lahaina; and lots of loafing in the sun. Still trying to decide on other choices for dining.

All we're worried about now is one of the those freaky fall snowstorms that can hit Denver at this time of year delaying or canceling our flight to paradise.

And tomorrow you'll be in single digits! I have triple digits til my 2010 trip to Maui...but only double digits til Kauai in November. Your activities (and lack thereof, on the "loafing" days) sound wonderful to me. I've enjoyed all three of the Lahaina attractions in past years...and wish the same for you.

I'm just back from Waikiki and Maui two days ago. I am sipping the Mele red wine from Tedeschi winery! Yum! This particular red is only available AT the winery, so I shipped home 6 bottles. DH likes it as well.

Enjoy your trip/s to Hawaii.

Barbara5353: We're triple digits (193 days) also for our April trip to back to Oahu.

simpsonc510: We always ship a case of wine back from Tedeschi. We usually get the Ulapalakua red. Not familiar with the Mele, but will definitely try it.

Honokowai is beautiful. A little pub "Dollies" down the street offers $1.50 pizza slices during happy hour. If you decide to go to Castaways for breakfast, be prepared for a wit. It has become very popular. There is a zipline and some other activity, dining and shopping coupons at http://www.mauileisureguide.com. Have a safe trip.

oooooo.... how I wish I was going to Maui too! The Old Lahaina Luau is fantastic! Out of all the luaus we've ever been to, this one is our favourite!

Since this is your third time to Maui, you've probably seen most of the stuff that interests you... but in case it's of use to you, I've got my top 10 list here:

Have a great trip!
