We just got back this morn' from a quick o'nighter to SF to meet up with our friends from the UK who were just returning from 2 weeks on Kauai. (Got the Hyatt-Airport for $45 thru P'line...3* listing)

They were telling us that since it was their 3rd trip over (rookies!), about the only thing they had to do was lay on the beach and watch the waves and smell the flowers...and Coppertone...and then at 2:00, crawl up to the Sand Bar! I can do that!
They did rave about the Holoholo boat cruise.

wow great deal Kal I am booked in August at the Hyatt for $95. How could they call that a 3* listing. Was it the Hyatt Regency and how was your room? I heard if you are facing the Atrium it is noisy. Is that so?

kal I am rethinking a night at the Hyatt Regency on Kauai do you know any islander type deals in poipu? I have a condo in Hanalei for two weeks thought one extra night at beginning of trip in Poipu might be different.

It was the Hyatt Regency SF Airport-1333 Bayshore Hiway, B'game.

Our friends were staying at the Westin at the "other end of the block" and I read on "bft.com" that someone just scored the "3*Westin" for $40. I assumed when I bid for the 3* I'd never get the Hyatt, but whammo! thank goodness for Mrs kal still being in training so I had a Desig Driver!

I reviewed submission and note it says "Hotel Quality Level: 3-Star or better".
Guess we got the "or better"?
The room was excellent! It was "on the corner" so it was a large room facing Hwy 101..no airport noise noted and the fwy noise was pretty much zip.

As for Poipu, no can help. I believe Suuuuuz likes The Whaler and they may have deals. We drove by it last trip and agree it looks nice and we'd prob. give it a try if we went Southshore again. Our people treat us too good to leave the CocoCoast.

17 days to go for me until that 8 hour plane ride to Maui!! I just have to get thru 17 more days of Mary Kay Seminar!! If anyone is ever looking for an inexpensive place to stay, Upcountry, let me know. It's great!!! Very Peaceful!!
