Hi,
Is there a costco and where is it in Kauai. We will not be going until May 2007. Thanks!

Aloha..
The Costco is under construction in Lihue and is set to open the first week of September..right when I will be there! The perfect stop after landing to get all your cocktail needs and snacks..
Have fun in May 07!

We are sooooooooo happy to have a Costco coming to our island!!! It's under construction, next door to Home Depot, behind Kukui Grove Shopping Center (Sears, K-Mart, etc.).

Originally announced to be open by T'giving 2005, it hit a few "snags" along the way -- even a possibility of not being built at all...ack!! -- but the construction crews are hard at work, and we're anticipating a late-summer opening. Yay!!!

Hi, we'll be there Aug 30 to Sep 5. Any chance the Costco will be open then?

PS, thanks for all your great advice on other threads, Auntiemaria!

Here is a place called Costuless. It's just like a Costco but no membership required. Warehouse prices.

When we are in a self-catering apartment for about a week or more, we pack a sturdy box with boxed/canned staple foods and snacks, and check it though on the airline. Sure saves $$$, and you can begin this 'stockpiling' weeks or months before you go, and have your box filled and ready. This gives you an extra $100 or more to spend in Kauai, as you aren't doing this 'I can't walk out of Costco without a minimum spending of $100 or more' thing that I and my friends always swear happen!

Enjoy Kauai--it's gorgeous.
