Copycatters from Atlanta planning a GTG

Ok folks, we've all heard about the great gatherings in CA, NY and recently TX and quite frankly we in/around Atlanta are jealous. It's time Atlanta takes a turn and shows our 'Southern' hospitality (or in my case, transplant hospitality).

How about Sat. afternoon, Sept. 17th. That gives anyone who would like to fly in a chance to be good Fodorites and get a deal.

If you're interested...email me at hotmail.com

I haven't booked a place as I want to know how much interest we have but will be contacting some places in Buckhead or Midtown.

Do you think anyone would mind if we did some quality control and tested it

I had the distinguised pleasure of tasting it at the Kauai GTG, that's why I whinoed until he promised to send us more!

Girlfriend, we gotta share....but hopefully the others attending will be beer drinkers or teetotallers...so that will leave enough for us!

Sept 17 is great for me...and you're in luck: I drink wine, not beer.

To everybody who's jealous: here is the fastest, most efficient, safe and pleasant way to meet another Fodorite!

Look in a mirror and say: HELLOOO!!!

Have a good time, guys! I made some wonderful friends through the DC Fodor's GTGs. If we ever stop painting our new house, I'll be hosting a Research Triangle (North Carolina) GTG one of these days!

I too will be in Atlanta on the 17th. And even if I'm new and not part of the "gang," would love to attend. May I?

Definitely, birgator. And, I thought you WERE part of the gang. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

OWJ, methinks you have the magic touch. I think this really may happen this time! Count me in.

OK, if we have a GTG in Portland at the same time, we can sort of say it is a Cross Country GTG, right?

Scarlett--
We could have a bicostal GTG but would rather you come and visit us in the ole South. I could call the Margaret Mitchell House in honor of you!!

Seamus, Birgato, Sallyjane--Looking forward to meeting you guys! Very glad you can make it.

More info to follow...be sure to email me so I have your addresses and can give you the skinny!

I have a great idea why don't you all meet half way in St. Louis!!! We could have a great GTG!!
I would love to go to Atlanta, but I have a concert here to go to - darn it.

Now, give it some thought y'all, we are right in the middle of the country and it is easy to get to from anywhere....

Tell ya what annesherrod....I think you should spearhead a National GTG in St. Louis....it would take some heavy duty planning....and probably a year or 2 to get it going, but wouldn't that be fun?.....we might could even send delegates from each region!!!

It might help if I wrote out my email address for you guys so noone has to do detective work.

You can find me at: [email protected]

Annesherrod--I'm sure this crew could provide all the music and be a fine subsititute for your concert...think about it

As for me personally, I've never been to St. Louis so plan a GTG and it would give me an excuse to visit somewhere new.

This sounds like fun and I don't think I'll be working that weekend either. I hate to say that I rarely socialize at home so this will be a very nice thing to participate in with people who love to travel as much as I do. Keep us posted OWJ!!

Sorry but I'll have to send regrets.

South Carolina plays Alabama in Columbia that evening.

My life revolves around University of South Carolina football in the fall. I'll remember to toast y'all tho!
