Convention Center Hotel

I will be in New Orleans in Oct. and need a room within walking distance to the convention center. I will have to be in and around the center daily on Sun., Mon. & Tue. for a trade show. Convenience is the key, I don't need the fanciest place for entertaining or anything else. I will be watching this forum for tips on great restaurants to take clients too.
Thanks

The Hyatt Regency is right next to the Convention Center and has a revolving top floor restaurant.

I've stayed at the Courtyard Convention Center. It was comfortable and convenient to the Convention Center (3 or 4 blocks away, even if they say 1 or 2). They didn't have our room ready for several hours after check-in time - maybe 6-7pm. I think they then put us in a smoking room when we reserved a non-smoking rooom. If those problems are regular occurrences, I wouldn't want to return. I got the idea that a couple of maids had quit. Otherwise, it was an okay place.

It was a couple of blocks from Emeril's, if that restaurant is not too passe.

The Hyatt is not close to the convention center. The Hilton is, however. The Hyatt is next to the Superdome. Both are large but nice hotels.

Perhaps Mary means the Hilton Riverside. I've stayed there twice when in New Orleans and it's next to the Moryal Convention Center.

I like the Embassy Suites on Julia St, which is about 2 or 3 blocks from the convention center. The Spring Hill Suites by Marriott is a little closer and is also fine (and usually cheaper than the Embassy).

There's also a Holiday Inn (Select, I think, though it may be an express) that's right across the street from the CC, though I haven't been inside it.

The Holiday Inn Select is right across the street from the center. It's convenient and certainly far than just adequate. There is also a Hampton Inn suite hotel across from the convention center, which is also an excellent hotel.
The Hilton is the closest major hotel. Previous posters are correct about the Hyatt. It is near the Superdome, not the convention center.
