Confusion over Alcatraz Tickets
We are hoping to do an evening Alcatraz tour on 18th May and when I originally looked online at tickets it appeared you couldn't book them until 3 months in advance on alcatrazcruises.com website. We are quite happy to wait until 3 months prior to book but are worried that when we do it will already have sold out. I have seen advice on other threads saying not to use any other website other than the official one above, however, there is information on trip advisor saying that if tickets are sold out to try a broker as an alternative although they will be more expensive. I have checked on alcatraztickets.com and they will allow me to book now for May and they don't cost much more than the official site.
Does anyone have any experience of using another booking site, are they legit? Will our tickets be valid?
Thanks for any help

You are worried about being sold out 3mo in advance? I think you're worrying about nothing. This is not like getting reservations at Phantom Ranch, nor is mid May high season.
Relax & check back in February, and worry about the big stuff.

Do NOT wait til you are there. Rich was lucky and anyway is most likely is talking one of the regular daytime cruises.
Several reputable companies offer the night tour - including the two you list, this one http://www.alcatrazislandtickets.com...FciIfgodQVoAJQ and others.
've always been able to get tix 1 to 3 months ahead, but if you are nervous about waiting - then go ahead and book. I

The Evening Tour isn't that limited. It just the last tour of the day(and the one I would do, btw).
I wouldn't go through a broker.
From what I read on NPS site--Tickets are available 60 days in advance.
