That's ok. Actually, a lot of people pick on me. My husband always says I wear a sign on my back that says, "EAsy target". I was hoping for someone who knew of a good cottage or unit, since googling pet friendly rentals in Florida was not all that helpful. You know, like a personal recommendation.I prefer south gulf area and near the beach. few beaches are pet friendly, so that info would also be helpful.

Well, your 3rd post can be something like Florida pet friendly rentals..
But in the meantime..we ended up traveling with Pup, a large dog from NY to Fl and from Fl to Oregon.
La Quinta is totally pet friendly, no extra charge and some of them are very nice, some are just ordinary. So if you get stuck for a hotel along the way- there you have it.
Otherwise, a local realtor might have an answer for you.
Don't expect a bargain and don't be surprised if the accomodations are a bit 'tired " or plain ( to put it kindly)...people who rent out homes to people with pets, do not waste good furniture on the chance of pet destruction.
This is something we learned a long time ago when we rented beach houses each summer in NY.
Good luck..if you decide to rent a pet though, let me know how you do..I might like a part-time cat.

If you want to take your pup on the beach I would suggest you look at rentals in Fort Myers Beach. It has about 7 miles of beach all pet friendly except for a short stretch north of the pier. Sanibel and Capitiva also allow pets on their public beaches. My daughter stayed at Silver Sands Villas (FMB)(silversands-villas.com)and it is a pet friendly place.
I had a look at petvationhomes.com and that site had a lot of rental options in Florida.
