Colorado wildfires

Hello,  I live in Indiana and have been planning a return visit to the Gore Mountain Range with my two sons for a couple years now.  I visited the area a few years ago and was absolutely taken back by the beauty of the area.  We are planning on flying out in mid July and spending five days in the gore range starting at the Two Elk trailhead and ending at the Meadow Creek trailhead.  We are also planning on climbing Quandry Peak before flying back to Indiana.  With the unfortunate wildfire situation I was just wanting some reliable information and advise as to how this could impact our trip. I also need to know what kind of campfire restrictions there are in that area.  Thank you so much.

Campfire bans (for open fires that aren't in pits, like the metal ones in Rocky Mountain National Park) are liable to be statewide shortly, by verdict of gov. Hickenlooper. Several new fires have popped up, in addition to the big one, and it's dry.
You'll just have to keep checking as your days get nearer.
The National Forest Service says there are fire restrictions in effect.

I share your enthusiasm for the stunning Gore Range. Good choice for a backcountry outing.

The current fires should have little or no impact on your trip.

But the fire season has a long way to go and the state is very dry. In any case best to not plan on building campfires. Use your stove and enjoy the night sky.

Quandary Peak is an enjoyable 14'er hike, another good choice. Have a great trip.
