Well, you can take a train up Pikes Peak. You can go to the "North Pole", a funky, very small, old fashioned amusement park with reindeer, and brother's who look like Santa with real beards. The rides are inexpensive and appropriate for young children. You can go to Cheyenne Mountain zoo, visit a Seven Falls, or an some Indian ruins. There is a marionette theatre called Simponich (I think) with weekend shows. Hope that helps.

You MUST see Garden of the Gods! It's magnificient, and can be explored at any pace or detail. Also, we greatly enjoyed touring the Air Force Academy, even if it did rain. Another must-see for us was Focus on the Family Headquarters, dedicated to preserving the family. www.family.org They have a wonderful area for lunch, a fun, informative area for children to explore, in addition to tons of materials that support and uphold the family and raising moral, Godly children. Have fun!

Hello Pam...
Am from the area and going back with our kids end of May. Always a must is the "NORTH POLE"! It is a fun place to visit and see the Christmas spirit in the summer. It's a memory for the kids--it's on Pike's Peak and just west of C.S. Also, they will enjoy seeing Garden of the Gods. You can make this a 2 hour visit or a day visit if you want to hike around. They do enjoy this also--have to take a picture with them on a boulder. The littler ones will be happy with a 2 hour visit. Seven Falls is also a neat little hike to see the falls. Air Force would probably be boring for the kids at their ages. It is, however, a neat place to visit with much older childrean and adults! You must go to FARGO's Pizza Restaurant!! The kids love it with its ambiance and player pianos. Another great little family Italian restaurant that is always a must visit for me when I return--Roman Villa off of Nevada/Fillmore. They love families! Food is the best! However, it is very small and many locals go and take the "wait" which may be long depending... Bring LAYERED clothing, a must. You can get 4 seasons in one day, even in the summer!

Skip Focus on the Family and focus on YOUR family. Garden of the God"S", Pikes Peak (by rail or car) is a great experience. Royal Gorge is a bit of a drive, but well worth it, and Cave of the Winds is fun too. Fishing, camping... the skys the limit, only because you can touch it there.
