Colorado Fall Foliage Map??
Will be in Colorado Sept 16th and trying to decide whether to stay the weekend to look at foliage. Was thinking about spending a night in Crested Butte then going through Kebler pass and up to Aspen but I know that's a little early in the season. Has anyone seen a map for foliage this year? Do you think leaves will be turning yet? If not, any suggestions on the best way to spend time. TIA!!

Kebler Pass is gorgeous. Peak leaf season is generally the third week of September, but it varies year to year and depends on specific area and elevation, we don't know it's happening until it's happening. If it were me, I'd absolutely not pass up that weekend. The leaves will be turning, they probably just won't be at their peak. Like I said, it varies year to year.

Color is so dependent on weather all summer long -- wet, dry -- and then in September an early snow fall could strip the leaves or heavy rains with a lot of wind. Almost impossible to forecast. So plan your weekend and you might get lucky with perfect weather.
