J, I swear your post was not there a minute ago . . . Twilight Zone music, please!

There are lots of great ways to fry green tomatoes. In fact, I don't think you can hardly mess them up . . . they are YUMMY!!! But just in case, here's one good recipe:

1 cup flour (all-purpose)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
5 green tomatoes, sliced 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick
1 cup crushed saltine crackers (cut back on adding salt if salt sensitive)
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup oil (safflower or something healthy--cause you gonna eat a bunch!)

Stir together the flour, salt and pepper. Put the crushed saltine crackers in a separate bowl, and the beaten eggs in a third bowl.
Add oil to a large skillet and heat over medium flame. Dip each tomato slice in the egg to coat, then in the flour mixture. Dip the floured tomato slice back into the egg, and then into the cracker crumbs. Place the coated tomato slices in the hot skillet, and fry until golden brown on each side. Only takes about 3 to 5 minutes per side. Add more oil to the pan, if necessary. Serve hot!

PS
you don't care how fat you get--try frying in bacon grease!

Anyhoo, I have a b-fast blend, and I'm gonna get up early and pepper you guys with an assortment of head scratching merriment, so be warned... Aries 4ever, J.

Jetset, In my mind I picture you drinking a full pot of coffee in the AM, LOL! I might suggest you curtail your coffee drinking to a cup, perhaps two. Can't wait for tomorrow...

Not razzle, but yes 8/20 would be Leo Virgo cusp [18th to 27th].

I myself am a Taurus/Gemini Cusp...which means a double dose of bull!

Porto Rican Coffee Company on Bleeker Street in the Village in NYC!

I order coffee from them online and buy it in bulk whenever I'm in New York.

We are going to Yellowstone/Tetons in Sept. I just saw that Cody, Wy, has its own special coffee or maybe it's just a coffee house - Cody Coffee Co. - anyone familiar with it?

I need some ocean air! I will see if there are tourists with laptops looking distressed, and slowly convert them to "our way of life".. after all, if you're not forum, your against em.

mooselywild~ whatcha doing up, friend? I am a bit bored(can you tell?). I had my walk, no good television(I loathe it most of the time, except I did watch Supernova to see who was getting the boot, lol), and I don't feel like reading this early, so here I am!
Okay, maybe I can get outside again and see if any new flowers are blooming in the old garden. J.

We drink Starbucks Verona.
I tried Peets, rocket fuel is right, made my teeth feel fuzzy.
I tried Coffee World ( 2 of them) burns a hole in my tummy.
I do like Illy..of course I do, a zillion dollars an ounce? you would think I wanted to do something illegal with it..
The Yankee loves the Costa Rica coffee from the Pearl Bakery ( Portland) ..
Favorite coffee whilst traveling---
Jamaica - just whatever blend the cook made
Paradise Island...dunno what kind, but it was the best .
Paris..doesn't matter what blend, it was in Paris!!
London..I like their coffee and I can drink it in the afternoon and still sleep at night..
I used to love Kona and I liked Blue Mountain.

So your dh let you back at th computer, huh?

Actually, it's only 10:30 here- my golden developed a huge lump on her neck- and I'm not tired yet, so I'm keeping her company- and yeah, same as you with TV- crime shows are the exception, but I think I've seen every Law and order (and lately, the plot holes are huge.) Which reality show is "supernova"?

How's the weather in Alaska?

off to the vet tomorrow......

breezy and 60.. thank goodness. I can't sleep in a stuffy room and had a couple toss and turn nights already.. nice walk on the beach tonight. I am going to read until I can't keep my eyes open, love it when I get a good night's rest.
Hope your dog gets better soon. I love retrievers. We are to the point where we need a dog to add to our family. Have a good day tomorrow.

Oh, have you ever stopped at The Blue Grouse in Ellensburg for their milkshakes? Yum! J.
