Coeur d'Alene vs Sandpoint

Driving from Glacier National Park, Montana to Seattle, Washinton.
I'm seeing two possible routes, and each route passed through one of these towns.
Where's better for a short stop? Around 3 hours.

I prefer Sandpoint. It's and up and coming place. I'm eager to read what others say.

Most people seem to be in favour of Coeur d'Alene because there's more activities, but someone told me that Sandpoint is much slower and scenic and now you're saying that it's an up-and-coming town.

I think I'll go with Sandpoint!

I also prefer Sandpoint. It's easier to walk around as it's much smaller than Couer d'Alene, and it's beautiful.

Ended up going to Couer d'Alene so that means next time I'm in the area i'll check out Sandpoint.

Thanks for the update. Are you pleased with your time in Couer d'Alene?

It was just for a few hours but I was impressed. I was expecting a much smaller town. We got some good pasta and craft beer. Walked along the lake and the downtown area for a while.
