Coastal Maine - Large House Rental

I am looking for a large house (at least 6 bedrooms) to rent on the coast of Maine for a week in August of 2009. We would prefer around the Mid-Coast region, but will consider anything on the coast. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We are also open to any other suggestions other than a rental house that any of you may have to offer for a family reunion! Thanks in advance!

If you want rocky coastline & midcoast. consider High Tide Inn near Camden. Glenmoor-by-the-Sea might be nice for a reunion, too. For sandy beach/family area....further south in Maine is Billowhouse, a B&B in Ocean Park that does nicely for family reunions.

Sorry, don't know much about house rentals except that you have to book like NOW for next August.

There is a 6 bedroom rental through www.HeartsofMaine.com in the town of Gouldsboro, which is about 45 mins north of Acacia National Park.
We rent for 2 weeks in Sept. through this management company, and we have never been disappointed. This is further north than mid coast but the house looks beautiful and its on 20 acreas. The rental house is "Beachsurf". Like all good rental companies, the offer previous tenants first take, so ask now if you are interested.
Good luck

Hi,

I've had excellent success with vrbo.com which lists a bevy of wonderful home rentals posted by owners. I've used vrbo consistently for Tuscany, Nantucket, Santa Barbara and Cambria. I'm a discerning (aka picky) traveler and my expectations have been exceeded every time.

Good luck!

burnslogan,

I'm back.

I did a quick search on vrbo.com for Mid-Coastal Maine and here's a few with 6+ bedrooms:

Good luck!
