Closest airport to Bryce

I just found out my oldest son will have to be home earlier than the rest of us from our trip to the Southwest. He is 21 and can't be off from work the entire trip. Our trip includes Vegas to GC, Page, Bryce & Zion and back to Vegas. If he has to leave from Bryce is Vegas still the closest airport? Is there anyway to get him there without us having to drive him there and back? Are there any kind of tour buses that travel between Zion or Bryce & Vegas? Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm so disappointed he can't be with us for the entire trip and don't want my husband to have to drive back and forth to Vegas in one day. Any suggestions?

I don't know of a closer airport, but have you looked into getting him a rental car that he can drive one way?

I believe that St. George Utah is the closest airport to Bryce. It would certainly be closer than Vegas. Of course there are not as many flight options from St. George.

Hi Travel,

You could check into Salmon Air. They are a "puddle jumper" and fly between a few very small towns in Utah and Idaho. Next closest airport is St. George served by Skywest, associated with Delta.

good luck!

Oops, sorry. I just checked Salmon Air's web site and they only serve Moab, Vernal and SLC in Utah.

Looks like St. George is your best bet. A connecting flight will be a definite.

The St George Airport has very limited flights. But I found that you can get to Las Vegas very inexpensively via the St George Shuttle. http://www.stgshuttle.com/
I am using this option for my trip in Sept. The Zion/Bryce area look beautiful and I am sure you are looking forward to your trip as much as I. Enjoy!

It probably won't be cheap, but there is an airport in Page, AZ. Maybe you should just have him fly home from there.
