Has anybody gone to the Clinton Library? How was it?

I don't know much about the library, but I hear the interns are awesome!
Sorry....couldn't resist!

The Clinton Library is wonderful! I spent a couple of hours there last month and plan to spend at least 2 more in the near future. It's got a good cross-section of facts and fun...

My Dad, a rabid Republican just went and thought it was great... and Arkansas is lovely, to boot!

I went to the Clinton Library and really enjoyed it. The gift shop is downtown and really needs to be bigger. We went over President's Day weekend, so there was a pretty big crowd.

The library was very nice.

I wanted to go. My husband said it is the only for-profit presidential library. Does anyone know if this is true?

caniac, you just made me nostalgic for the times when our biggest worries were what Clinton did w/ an intern.

If only Bush thought that way !

sfamylou: That is flat-out wrong. It's a not-for-profit-- your donations to the Library are as tax-deductible as those you make to any other Presidential Library.

The Library cost $7 per person. The gift shop is downtown near the River Market, about a half mile from the Library.

I'm not a big Clinton fan, even though (or maybe because) we're from Arkansas, but we enjoyed it. One TV upstairs plays a short film the Clinton's made when he was a lame duck. Very funny.

Yes, the giftshop is about half a mile away. I thought that was strange, but I guess it revitalizes the downtown area.

The separation of the gift shop from the Library is because the Library is a non-profit, and the gift shop isn't. It's well within walking distance, though.
