Cliffs at Princeville
Sorry to ask more questions...but has anyone stayed here? It looks nice from the website, but I would like some actual traveler reviews! (http://www.premier-kauai.com/Cliffs_...lle/index.html)
We would love to stay at the Princeville, but definitely can not afford it as we are spending quite a bit on Maui.
Thanks for your help!!

we were in kauai a month or so ago and loved it. We stayed at the hyatt on the south shore - the princeville is on the north shore and looks just as nice. Worth every penny. Only difference seems to be that they focus on golfing, whereas the hyatt focuses on the spa.

I stayed at the Cliffs several years ago - it was a nice place then. My In-laws also stayed there a few years ago and really enjoyed it. The units are spacious and some have great ocean views. You're set up high above the shore near a rocky cliff line (thus the name), but trails can get you down to the surf. Not real close to sandy beaches - but there are plenty you can get to in a few minutes drive. The general area is beautiful and has much to offer! Princeville is my favorite spot to stay on Kauai. Hanalei Bay Resort is a great (my favorite) Princeville resort, though it may be a little pricier.

I stayed at the Cliffs in 95 and 93 and
it's a nice place. Actually, it was right after the hurricane in 93 and the place was ripped apart, but we still had an enjoyable time. In '95 I didn't like our unit quite as much. However, we were upgraded to an ocean view which made up for the outdated unit, but all in all, it's a nice place. You can't beat the princeville area.

We stayed at the Princeville 2 months on our honeymoon...it was wonderful there. It was worth every penny. We also spent some time on the south shore, and I must add, the Hyatt is beautiful too. We personally liked the North Shore more, so therefore, I would recommend Princeville...lastly, where ever you go in Kauai, is heaven, so enjoy!

Hi Erica:
We have stayed at both the Princeville Hotel and at the Cliffs. The Cliffs are spacious condo units in a spectacular setting, but not at all near the beach. And as you have read above, the units tend to vary. The hotel, on the other hand, provides a full "resort experience", and it is impeccable. The sunset view from Cafe Hanalei is unparalleled. The hotel is lovely, but you certainly pay for it. If it's just two of you traveling, I'd suggest the hotel. If it's a family, the condos may be better value. Have a great vacation!
