Citi AA MC fees

I received a notice today from Citi that their foreign currency credit card transaction fees will be 3%.
If I read it correctly, that's in addition to the 1% MC conversion fee.
A good reason to leave it home and use USAA's credit cards overseas.

Most appreciative of info re: which cards/banks do not have that sort of fee. BankOne? AmEx?

I don;t believe the Citi charges are universal. I think it depends on what type of accounts you have - I know some people who have to pay a fee for Citi credit cards and even for checking accounts.

You may want to ask if there's an option you can exercise (I think mine are free because of minimal balances on other types of account - I think perhaps $20,000 or so).

soccr,
I have a Gold V and Plat MC from USAA Federal Savings Bank. Both have no annual fees, and charge only the 1% V and MC currency conversion fee.
From last June until recently, the V rebated 1% which negated the 1% V fee.
The MC is now rebating 1.5% (prob another limited time promo).
USAA's ATM rebates the first 15 out of network transaction charges a month. All are available to non USAA members.
My Citi AA is a Gold World MC which I use for "everything" in the US for the AA miles. I have no other accounts with Citi as they get low scores for cost effectiveness.

There have been numerous posts which might be worthy of a search.

Capital One V does not have the additional fees. There is also no annual fee so I use it for international travel and the AA one for US as Mikemo does.
