Cider Mills
Where is a nice cider mill in Southeast Michigan within a reasonable driving distance (within 100 miles)of Toledo, Ohio? We are looking for a nice drive with a leisurely stop at the mill for some cider and perhaps doughnuts.
Thanks,

All the ones I can think of are beyond your 100 mile radius. Just in case here they are:
Beck's in St. Johns [just north of Lansing] on US 127.
Bintz's in Freeland just west of M-47. [Also referred to as Apple Mountain]
Bayne's on M-47 in Freeland.
They all have great cider, donuts and other fall goodies.

You might try:
Erie Orchards and Cider Mill
1235 Erie Road
Erie, MI 48133
Phone: (734)848-4518
This is a working farm. You can take a wagon ride through the orchard and they have a barn with farm animals.
Franklin Cider Mill
7450 Franklin Road
PO Box 250661
Franklin, MI 48025
Phone: (248) 626-2968
Franklin Cider Mill was built in the 1830's, is water driven and very neat, but no orchard on site. Very good cider, donuts and other food items, pumpkins, etc.
Yates Cider Mill
1990 E. Avon Road
Rochester Hills, MI 48307-2409
Phone: (248)651-8300
I haven't been here, but this is also an old water cider mill - 1860's.
If you go to www.Michigan.org you can do a map-based search and each area has a tab for farms/cider mills. There are pictures of many of the places.

We used to go to Franklin Cider Mill when I was a kid and it was great, but I hear it is not as good as it once was. Parmenter's in Northville is a good one, and Northville would be a nice little town to poke around in too!

Franklin Cider Mill is a fond memory for me. Hot little donuts and great fresh cider and the trees. I'm happy it's not become a condo or something. There is also a larger mill in the Rochester area. Perhaps someone can remember its name.
