Christmas Homes-Brooksville & Clearwater,Florida

There is a Roberts Christmas Wonderland
and a Rogers' Christmas House and Village. Has anyone visited them please? Any thoughts? Roberts is in Clearwater, Florida and Rogers' is in Brooksville, Florida.

I went to the store in Brooksville several times quite a few years ago, and it was beautifully set up with different themed rooms, many things to purchase, a little expensive, but very nice items. Haven't ever been to the store in Clearwater.

Rogers' Christmas House is totally different from Roberts which is much more like a mass merchandiser (probably is) with hundreds of artificial trees and trims; items readily available throughout the US since just after the 4th of July! Like Justmom said, Rogers' ornaments and decorations aren't inexpensive but if you're looking for unique and charming and have time to make a side-trip to Brooksville, it's become quite a tourist destination. I think there are about 5 houses on the property which are connected and decorated to the hilt.
If you go, you might also enjoy the downtown historic district of Dade City which isn't too far southeast of Brooksville. They have a variety of antique and gift shops in restored early 20th century cotttages and eating at Lunch on Limoges might be fun. They're famous for their muffins, peacn-crusted grouper and special desserts.

Roberts in Clearwater is a massive commercial Christmas store. If you collect Dept 56 houses, it is the best place to go for displays. Rogers in Brooksville, is a quaint set of little rooms and cottages, each with a Christmas theme. There is a small tea room opposite the entrance which is very nice. Rogers is a little expensive as the others have said, but makes for a really nice visit. They also have big rockers on the porch where you can sit and rest a bit..and talk to other visitors. It is well worth the trip.

Justmom, prettylake, rubytwo..Thank you, thank you, thank you. That is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to see "old Florida" and as it pertains to the Christmas house, the one in Brooksville sounds ideal.
Thanks again to all of you for your time and feedback.

Roger's Christmas house in Brooksville is a wonderful place to visit (and I know the owner well as I am a Brooksville native!)
The restaurant across the street is "Mallie Kyla's", and was featured in Southern Living. They offer homemade soups, quiche, sandwiches, salads, and to die for desserts.
Hope you have fun!

Wow! I hadn't been here in awhile. I have been back to Brooksville. Finally visited Mount Dora. Went to Christmas (Fort Christmas) too. Saw MANY little towns all over Florida. LOVED it! Thanks for all your help.
