What are you looking for?
I don't get the "one thinks she's a vegetarian". Either she eats meat or she doesn't. In any event, even at a steakhouse you can get meat-free meals.
And what does "picky" mean? Will only eat mushrooms and french fries? Won't eat read meat but loves chicken and fish? Etc.
What kind of cuisine do you eat at home or in restaurants near your home. With that to go on, I know the Chicago experts here can help with restaurant suggestions.

If they like pizza, there are many choices-Lou Malnatis or Ginos East or Pizzaria Unos or Due are best. Also Ed Debevics is a 50s style diner which they may like (or hate given that they are teenagers
! Cheesecake Factory at the bottom of the Handcock Building or Food life (a more upscale food court) in the Water Tower mall may be good options too.

For variety: Oak Tree in 900 N. Michigan building, Food Court/Mity Nice Grill or California Pizza Kitchen in Water Tower Place. For vegetarian (or a reasonable facsimile of) try Thai food- Amarit Restaurant on Dearborn and Delaware is good, not expensive. Ask them to leave off the hot stuff.
