Chicago transportation options
What options are available to get from suburb Rolling Hills to bus station at 830 W Harrison in downtown early Saturday morning?
First time to Chicago for my friend who is 18 and on school trip however needs to come home early. Did cab fare check and cost is $70 and need to find something cheaper.
Have two bus options...Greyhound leaving at 6:15am departing from Harrison St or Megabus leaving at 7:15. The Megabus departs from Van Buren St between South Canal St and Clinton St.
Thanks for any information to get to the bus.

If you mean Rolling Meadows, it's on Metra's Union Pacific Northwest Line but the first Saturday train leaves Arlington Heights at 6:47 am and doesn't arrive at Ogilvie Station until 7:37 am.
He could book American Taxi www.americantaxi.com which has a flat rate of $58 to The Loop. As a second option, he could take American to ORD for about $30 and take the Blue Line to Clinton Street which is near both bus stops. The Blue Line runs 24-hours and takes about an hour.

Yes I meant Rolling Meadows. Have very limited knowledge of Chicago.
Where does American taxi drop you off in loop? Are they usually on time for pick ups.
How difficult is finding the train at ORD, he has never rode a train.

The taxi drops you off where you tell it. If he wants to go to the Greyhound station, that's what he can say. If he's catching Megabus, it stops on Canal just south of Union Station.
If he takes a cab to the airport, the Blue Line is accessible from any of the domestic terminals (1, 2 or 3). He can follow the signs from the baggage level that say "CTA trains to City" The fare from ORD is $5. He can find info at www.transitchicago.com.
