Chicago subway question

My son is coming into Chicago on the south shore train from south bend, Indiana. He will get off at the millenium station. He needs to get on the train to O'hare which we know is the blue line. I believe, the closest train station, to the Millenium is Randolph so what's the best way on a saturday for him to get to the blue line to O'hare?

Thanks!

The Milennium station is only 4 1/2 blocks east of the ticket station on the blue line at Randolph. Unless he has a ton of stuff, he can walk right over. Check out

It looks like he could also get on at Washington which would be a couple of blocks closer.

The stop is called Washington, there are entrances from both Randolph and Washington on Dearborn Street (which is, I believe, about 3 blocks west of the station--I used to take the pedway when I walked there, but the red/blue line tunnel is closed right now). It's really not very far at all--walking is the best way.

Sandi, your son should also check the CTA site a couple days before he travels. The CTA has been performing weekend maintenance on the Blue Line that is expected to last through most of December.

During construction, Blue Line trains are not running between Jefferson Park and Harlem. There are shuttle buses to bridge the work area and he should plan additional time accordingly.

BTW Coach USA offers a diect bus service from Notre Dame and/or South Bend Airport direct to O'Hare. Service is every 2 hours and costs $ 35 OW and only takes 2.5 hours to the big airport.

Thank you so much for the bus information. With all the possible construction going on I think this is the way we'll go.
