chicago-omni or intercontinental

Is the Omni much nicer than intercontinental? For 2 nights, total difference is $120. It's a special weekend, so want something nice.

Forgot to mention that in the $120 difference is breakfast for two.

I think all rooms at Omni Chicago are suites, are they not? If so, this is a big plus since the Intercontinental rooms vary quite a bit, esp. between the 2 buildings.

I'd go with Omni on this one.

My boss goes to Chicago constantly (about 2-3 times a month) and said the Omni there is one of the best hotels he's ever stayed at. He never stayed at the Intercontinental, so can't comment on that one. But if you check the reviews on Tripadvisor.com, the Omni fared better than the Intercontintal there also.

Oh, forgot to mention, if you choose the Omni, join their Choice Select program. I just joined it 2 weeks ago, and already got in the mail 2 certificates, one for a free upgrade and another for 50% off I believe it was any weekend rate.

have stayed at both. pool at Inter-continental is tops, but rooms seem to vary. Omni is all suite, great location, great staff. Lobby is in the 2nd or 3rd floor which is the biggest drawback. The bed was really comfortable, bathroom huge, but a little dated. Omni rewards program is great-join and they'll send up coffee & juice in the morning, Last year we got a tremendous rate at the omni on quikbook, which included breakfast at their retaurant (which was very good). If I had to chose between the two, I would go with the Omni
