chicago MDW-restaurants in area

looking for a great restaurant (Italian) with lots of atmosphere in the MDW area, can be on the train line...thanks

You're pretty much out of luck -- the MDW area is pretty crappy. You're better off taking the orange line all the way to downtown. Several good choices in the city -- Volare, Mia Francesca, Carmine's, Rosebud are a few that come to mind.

Here is an interesting article for you. Go to
www.chicagomag.com
and click on "Glorious Italian" (under the Rockettes' legs) Then select "the other Little Italy" from the article heads. It talks about an enclave of places in a hard-to-find neighborhood about halfway between Midway and downtown. See maps at:

There is an Italian restuarant that is well recommended in the area. I can't remember the name of it, but if you called the Hilton in Oak Lawn, IL they could give you the name of it. I like Volarie downtown much more, but if you are out by Midway it is a viable option. (You would have to get a cab from the airport, maybe a $10 ride.)
