I agree that the Westin on Michigan Ave. is probably the very best location. I'm glad some have lucked out getting this on hotwire.com but this is no guarantee. If location is of utmost importance, bite the bullet and chose the hotel with the best location then shop for the best price knowing you have the exact hotel you want. Not sure if anyone has lucked into getting the Westin with priceline.com or not?? Teri

Laurie,
I'm looking at Aug. 10th, but I'm seeing outrageous rates on Expedia, etc. like, on average, in the $300-500 range for two beds in Mag Mile. Maybe something big is going on that weekend.

Of course I have never tried priceline, but I have that old saying stuck in my head "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." On the other hand, those of you who have responded are reporting pretty good luck using priceline.

I would like to know I can be selective in picking a four-star hotel on the Mag Mile for under $100, but more importantly, make sure there's enough beds for us to sleep in. I guess if we didn't have enough beds, we could just sleep in the hotel lobby!!

Mina,
That hotel does sound like something the kids would like.

Let's see I stayed at Hyatt in June for 46.00, got that on priceline.
I am staying at Hotel Burnham for 129.00 7/12 2 nights got that on their website.
I will be staying at Palmer House 7/17 for 55.00 got that on priceline.
I like staying alittle further south. I can walk to Art Institute and museum campus easier. The theater district is right there too. PJ

Yeah, it's a boutique hotel, which I normally don't associate with kids...but the goldfish bit sounds like a nice extra.

Let us know where you end up!

You are right!! That is crazy. Rooms were half these prices when I was looking. I can't figure out what is going on that weekend. Air and Water show is the following weekend. Well good luck!
