Chicago hotel for 5 with breakfast
I'm looking for some options for a family of five - 2 adults and 3 children. Any ideas for reasonably priced suite hotel with free breakfast in the city?
I'm having a hard time tracking down hotels that will allow 5 in a room.
Thanks!
Deb

Prices vary widely in Chicago, and I don't know if any of these hotels offer free breakfast (but there are plenty of great, affordable breakfast places in Chicago), but here are some to get you started:
Comfort Inn & Suites
Doubletree Guest Suites
Embassy Suites Downtown
Embassy Suites Downtown Lakefront
Fairfield Inn & Suites
Hampton Inn & Suites
Hilton Garden Inn (not sure about suites)
Homewood Suites
Lenox Suites (older property, not great reviews lately)
Omni Chicago Hotel (not Ambassador East, and generally not cheap)
Radisson Hotel & Suites
Residence Inn
Corner Bakeries abound for very affordable and quick breakfasts, plus there are plenty of other local options. So, if you find a great price on a hotel, it might be worth forgoing the included breakfast.

The first weekend in June we stayed at the Residence Inn right by the Drake and Knickerbocker Hotels. I think that is a great location---walked the beach path in the morning.
The rooms appeared to be recently refurbished; the kitchen had new appliances; it was spotlessly clean. We only paid $113 for the 3 of us. AAA discount.
One of the nicest breakfast buffets we have ever had--waffles, scrambled eggs, muffins, fruit, yogurt etc.

I definitelly recommend Homewood Suites. They serve a breakfast bound to please your family and Monday-Thursday they dish up supper (hot dogs, mac and cheese--stuff like that). They have the right set up to serve your family. Rooms have a kitchen, and there is a great supermarket a block away. The location is great for sightseeing too. (We stayed there last summer.)

Our family of 5 stayed at the Hampton Suites, just a couple of blocks off of Michican Avenue. It is quite nice - decorated in sort of a Frank Lloyd Wright/Prairie style. Our suite had tow double beds, then a full sized sofa bed in the living room. It also has a "real" kitchen with full sized fridge, and a small stove complete with oven! When I priced it (a couple of years ago) Hampton Suites was about half the price of the nearby Embassy Suites. The breakfast is decent, but nothing cooked to order.
