Chicago dance spot for baby boomers?
Does anyone know of a good dance/bar for a couple in their 50's? We love to dance to anything from Big Band to the 70's...but these spots are hard to find; everything I've found plays jazz or hip-hop, etc. We will be downtown Chicago (Courtyard Marriott-Magnificent Mile) in January without a car.
Thanks...

I don't know myself, but my cousins (60's) go all the time as they have an apartment downtown.

Take a look at the Green Dolphin on N. Ashland, if you like jazz. You'd need to cab it there from your hotel.
I know that the Hangge Uppe on Elm has 50s-90s music but I haven't been there in so long that I can't tell you what the crowd is like now. Sorry can't be of more help with that one.

WanderWoman,
For salsa, check out Green Dolphin Street on Tuesday night, or Buzz on Wednesday night. For swing, I believe Green Mill has it on Thursday nights. I don't know much about ballroom and such, but the others are right--stay away from worthless places like Hangge Uppe.
