Hey all,

I'm going to Chicago to celebrate my 40th birthday. The first night I'm in town (Friday, 9/14) I want to head out to find some great bebop jazz.

Any ideas on the best places?

I don't know if you live near Chicago and can change your itinerary - but the Chicago Jazz Festival is this weekend - I believe at Grant Park.

Yeah, I saw that and I'm upset that I'll miss it but I wanted to be in Chicago on my birthday (16th).

I WILL be there during the Celtic Fest (and since I'm a Connolly that's a good substitute) also at Grant Park.

Would love to make it to the Chicago Jazz Festival next year.

So any other advice out there?
